NEW CITY, NEW FILM, NEW MEDIA SERIES

NewCity NewFilm NewMedia (NCNFNM) is a monthly film series at Theater for the New City engaging dialogue with new filmmakers and media creators. We honor the fore masters in cinema as we pave the way for the new voices of storytellers. We service the NYC downtown filmmaker community with exhibitions space, marketing, and promotion of new films. Our goal is to foster the independent spirit of filmmaking and new media within the LES Community, and beyond. We are presenting once a month from October 3, 2011 to April 2, 2012 at Theater for the New City under the direction of Artistic Director Crystal Field and Film Program Director Francesse Maingrette. We are now accepting film submissions for our third season. We are thrilled to showcase and celebrate the creative genius juice that fuels the independent filmmaking and media community.

NewCity NewFilm NewMedia accepts all categories of films for screening at no submission fees. To qualify, the work must be independently produced and has not yet received major distribution. We prefer to be the first to exhibit NYC and/or World Premier films. Our 3rd season, NCNFNM looks for films with characters that will impact the audience. Our theme is “GET INTO CHARACTER”. This season we will honor the characters we love and imitate: Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra, Cary Grant in North by Northwest, Linda Blair in the Exorcist, Pamela Jones in Cleopatra Jones, Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffanys, and Dana Andrews In The Best Years of our Lives. For consideration, send us a package includes a DVD, the film synopsis, director and cast list with bios, length of film, and film logo to Theater for the New City, 155 First Avenue NY NY 10003.

Join us as we celebrate ourselves in the film we love and create.
